Temporary Holiday Site At Foy

 

The Site Is at Carthage Farm Foy Ross on Wye and is open From Spring Bank 23rd May to 8th June 2008 and then in the Summer From 5th July to the 2nd August

This is a quiet riverside minimum facilities site (tap and elsan disposal) a short distance from the town of Ross on Wye.

Ross is a pleasant market town with a good selection of shops and eating places, there is a Sunday car boot/market held on the cattle market. Canoeing and fishing is allowed from the site (only fishing for eels with worms May to June). Symonds Yat is only a short drive away where the RSPB have a viewing area overlooking the Wye valley and a Peregrine Falcons nesting site, there is a small cafe, and toilet block. Way-marked walks through the woodlands.

In the valley below a riverside pub has a good menu with tables by the river, boat trips are available from the keyside, If you are more adventurous there is a canoe hire centre alongside.

The Forest of Dean is approximately 12 miles from the site with wonderful forest walks, just outside Upper Lyndbrook there is a cycle centre with cycle hire, if you don't take your's, They have all sizes, even electric ones for the less energetic, there are marked trails through the forest of various stages of difficulty (maps available at the centre).

The Malverns, Ledbury, Newent, Hereford and Monmouth are interesting to visit also Abervegenny market is popular.

There is a local swimming pool.

We try to arrange some entertainment for you on site subject to weather and interest, (Quiz nights, Pancake Nights and cream teas etc).

There is a Local Cider farm approximately 2 miles from the site where the local brew can be tried
